Our reception children visited the sports centre to take part in a football session. They had a fantastic time showing off their skills and were impeccably behaved. Well done! We have been learning about people who help us and we have had some very special visitors. Our morning children in nursery were visited by 2 doctors and our afternoon children by a nurse. they told us all about their special jobs looking after people in hospital. We set up our role play area as a hospital and our nursery children practised being doctors and nurses.  We were also visited by the police dogs 'Jet and Ben'. The children found out lots of information about their special job in the police. We had a very successful outdoor day on Monday. The children had a great time washing wellies, sweeping up, planting seeds and painting stones. We would like to say a huge thank you to our families who came along to help and made the day a big success. The children are very interested in the developments at the old swimming baths. We have been onto our school field to see what is happening. The children saw trucks, diggers and builders. Back at school the children made plans of their ideas for the site. There were lots of suggestions from an ice cream shop to a zoo!!! We will be watching the site over the summer term to see what changes occur. We watched our caterpillars grow fatter and fatter. Next they formed chrysalises and we waited till they turned into beautiful butterflies.    We have taken delivery of some caterpillars in nursery and reception. We will be watching them as they grow and change over the next few weeks.  Our children enjoyed a wonderful world book day in fantastic character costumes. They enjoyed a special week of activities with the nursery children finding out all about Stick man and The Gruffalo. The reception children read all about Alice in wonderland and all of the children celebrated World book day with a Mad Hatter's tea party.
Our children put on a show stopping performance of the nativity. It featured a very sleepy shepherd, Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus, the 3 Wise men and a host of angels and shepherds. We were so proud of their beautiful singing and how well they said their parts. A big thank you for helping our children learn their lines and coming to watch our children perform. We enjoyed a fantastic Christmas party and our children turned up in their finest party wear. We played lots of party games, danced and even had a special visit from Santa! Can you spot him??????
